We live in a culture that gives high regard for being self-sufficient. We admire the self-made man. This can creep into our faith as well, where we put our own righteousness above the righteousness of Christ. How can we fully trust in Jesus? And how do we learn to disregard anything that might compete with Him?

When things are bleak and we feel alone, life can seem hopeless and the future uncertain. Yet God brought you to this moment through many other dark times already. Can God's deeds of yesterday influence our present, giving us hope and strengthening our faith?

No one knows what's around the bend, and with today's headlines, it seems anything is possible! Is the end of the world around the corner? The temptation is to panic when the future looks frightening, but take heart! God is in control and knows exactly what will happen next. How can you learn to put your complete trust in Him even when tomorrow looks bleak?

Whether we want it or not, change is inevitable in our lives. The constant ups and downs we go through can tempt us to be fearful, stressed out, or even numb. But just as fixing our eyes on a distant object can keep us from getting dizzy, keeping our hearts and minds centered on God changes our outlook and attitude. How can we do this?

We all put our faith in something: family, a job, ourselves, or even the church. But quite often we end up disappointed when that something lets us down. The Bible says the only place to put our trust is in God. What if we're not sure that God can be trusted? How do we learn to do that?
